Sony's Santa Monica Studio is looking to expand, as the development team behind the God of War series is departing Santa Monica to set up shop in a new location in Playa Vista that is roughly "four or five times the size" of its current base of operations.
The move, which is reportedly due to take place this summer, will see the developer moved to a new "20-acre facility on Jefferson Boulevard in Playa Vista" 5 miles south of its current location.
It isn't known whether the developer will receive a name change to reflect the move.
"We took some time to hone in on location," said Shannon Studstill, founder and head of Sony Santa Monica. “We love Santa Monica. It's been our home for over a decade."
